The first national project to develop a foam fire extinguisher in China got the green light recently – in an initiative that will involve the R&D of an eco-friendly product with high stability.
The project was launched by Jiangsu Suolong Fire Science and Technology Co Ltd – located in the Xinghua Economic Development Zone, in Xinghua city, in East China's Jiangsu province.
It is also being supported by the Tianjin Fire Science and Technology Research Institute at the Ministry of Emergency Management, or MEM.
The goal is to help fill a big gap in the market, caused by the fact that existing foam fire extinguishers are largely ineffective and are not friendly to the environment. The project will strive to achieve a major tech upgrade in the field of product development, production and applications.
Under the guidance of the Tianjin Fire Science and Technology Research Institute of MEM, the project team has discussed its overall program over 20 times and modified its approach over 10 times since the first round of talks.
Moving forwards, the team will focus on the technological research and strive to achieve a breakthrough in key core technologies, in order to promote the sustainable development of the foam extinguisher industry in China.
