A group of officials conducted a series of inspections of projects in the Xinghua Economic Development Zone in Xinghua – a county-level city administered by Taizhou in East China's Jiangsu province – on Feb 4.
The team from Taizhou was led by senior official Shen Jun Feng and major project construction, safety in production and industry development work in the first quarter were under the spotlight.
The group went first to the construction site of a special vehicles plant being operated by Poly Orica (Jiangsu) Mining Machinery Co Ltd, which has been designated as a 2024 Jiangsu Province Major Project.
When completed, it's projected to generate annual invoiced sales of over 500 million yuan ($69.65 million) and pay taxes of over 46 million yuan per annum.
Shen called on the contractors to accelerate the pace of construction, while ensuring safety and to strive for early completion.
Elsewhere, at a factory operated by Jiangsu Shuangfa Machinery Co Ltd, the group learned about the company's development, its implementation of safe production measures and other related matters.
Shen said the first quarter was a crucial period for achieving annual development goals and Xinghua needed to seek new breakthroughs in attracting major projects, start construction early and catch up with progress.
