Xinghua – the county-level city administered by Taizhou in East China's Jiangsu province – held a special conference on high-quality industrial development on Feb 17, the last day of the Spring Festival holiday.
Chen Fengjian, Xinghua's Party secretary, said that enterprises were the cornerstone of high-quality development, with daring to take action being key to their progress.
To help advance the entrepreneurial spirit of the new era, Xinghua evaluated a group of outstanding enterprises and demonstration projects and commended them at the event.
They included recognition of the special contributions made by businesses, the top 10 enterprises in technological innovation and investment demonstration projects, among others.
Compared with last year, the total number of commendation awards categories increased from seven to 10, while the number of commended enterprises expanded from 71 to 116.
In addition, the number of attendees increased by more than 160, with everyone present representatives of enterprises.
Peng Jiande, chairman of Jiangsu Haozailai E-commerce Co Ltd, told the conference that his company generated invoiced sales of 2.3 billion yuan ($319.53 million) in 2023, and it planned to build a food industry park and develop its headquarters economy this year.
