The groundbreaking ceremony for a modern aviation food processing plant, being erected in the Xinghua Economic Development Zone in Xinghua city, East China's Jiangsu province, was held on Feb 16.
Costing 1.2 billion yuan ($165.04 million), the new facility is being funded by Shanghai Zhaowei Industrial and Jiangsu Xinlei Food Technology and it has officially been recognized as a major provincial-level project for 2025.

Once operating, it will introduce an internationally advanced fully automatic frozen fresh noodle production line. It will also deploy intelligent controls and microcomputer management, creating a modern aviation food processing complex that integrates research, development and production.
Estimates are that it will produce 36,000 metric tons of frozen cooked noodles, sun dried noodles, braised noodles and other products annually.
The plant will mainly produce Laobanzhai labeled food, a time-honored brand in Shanghai that was developed by Shanghai Zhaowei Industrial.
The Xinghua project is a combination of a century-old brand and modern food technology, as well as a strong alliance between the mature and complete food support industry chain for the development zone and the aviation food field.
