A groundbreaking ceremony for a fruit and vegetable concentrate and instant fruit and vegetable powder production project took place in the Xinghua Economic Development Zone in Xinghua, Jiangsu province, on June 3.
Costing 2 billion yuan ($278.5 million), the project will be operated by Topower, which will introduce internationally leading intelligent production lines for freeze vacuum drying equipment and ultra-low temperature extraction.
The project is expected to produce 42,000 metric tons of products such as coffee, plant extract powders, and fruit and vegetable concentrates annually, generating sales of 800 million yuan.

Highlighting green development, the project will innovatively adopt carbon dioxide supercritical technology to reduce carbon emissions by over 40 percent compared to traditional processes.
The project will inject new momentum into the zone's agricultural and sideline food deep processing and premade food industry chains.
After the project agreement was signed, the zone quickly established a service team and took proactive measures to ensure its timely completion. Especially during the drawing review stage, the service team contacted drawing review experts, local bureaus such as housing and urban-rural development and data, making the project obtain its construction permit in just five days.
