In the first half of the year, Yangzhou Taizhou International Airport, the traveling and logistics hub shared between Yangzhou and Taizhou cities in East China, recorded passenger throughput of over 2 million.
That represented a hefty year-on-year increase of 12.3 percent and set a record for the period.
The airport also reported cargo and mail throughput of over 5,822 metric tons, a year-on-year increase of 25.2 percent.

Facing the increasing air travel demand this year, the airport has promoted the optimization and upgrading of its route network, opening flights to 38 domestic and foreign destinations during this summer.
That's included the launch of direct flights to Osaka in Japan, providing new options for international travel.
In terms of cargo, from April to June the monthly freight volume exceeded 1,000 tons, showing strong development vitality.
