Xinghua, a county-level city in central Jiangsu with a dense water network, is currently in the process of developing an unprecedented three-dimensional network of highways and railways.
A number of major transportation projects, including the Yancheng-Yixing High-speed Railway, Nanjing–Yancheng Expressway, and Dongtai-Xinghua Expressway, are advancing at full speed throughout the city.
The Jianhu-Xinghua section of the Funing-Liyang Expressway began operating in 2024. This 71.72-kilometer-long expressway, with the Xinghua section accounting for 36.9 km, runs through key areas in Xinghua such as Shagou town, Zhongbao town, and the Xinghua Economic Development Zone.

The Xinghua section of the Dongtai-Xinghua Expressway started construction at the end of 2023 and is expected to be completed and opened to traffic by the end of this year. Once completed, it will provide a faster and more convenient connection between Xinghua and eastern coastal areas, creating new opportunities for urban development.
As Xinghua's high-speed road network continues to take shape, the construction of its high-speed railway is also making steady progress. Construction on the Xinghua section of the Yancheng-Yixing High-speed Railway is speeding up. The railway is expected to be completed and opened to traffic by 2030.
Xinghua's comprehensive transportation network will better connect its key industries, such as stainless steel, precision manufacturing, and characteristic agriculture. Improved transport links will reduce logistics costs for enterprises and facilitate the efficient flow of talent, capital, and technology.
