In the past five years, Xinghua in Jiangsu province has made dedicated efforts to protect the ecosystem, making the sky bluer, the water clearer, the land greener, and the scenery more beautiful.
The city's environmental quality has continued to improve. Its surface water quality ranks among the highest in the province. The proportion of days with excellent urban air quality has reached 80 percent, and the average concentration of PM2.5 has continued to decrease.
Xinghua has also been advancing ecological protection and restoration. The city has established the Lixiahe National Wetland Park, where the wetland scenery is unforgettable. The protection and restoration projects of key rivers and lakes such as Dazong Lake are accelerating, and the once silted river channels are once again rippling with clear waves.
In addition, the city has been accelerating the pace of green and low-carbon transformation. The Xinghua Economic Development Zone has been selected as a provincial-level pilot park in advancing China's carbon peaking and carbon neutrality goals, and both the Xinghua High-Tech Zone and the Xinghua EDZ have been approved as national level green industrial parks.
Xinghua is currently home to nine national level green factories and 42 provincial-level green factories.
