Xinghua maintains competitiveness through transformation and upgrading

Xinghua in East China's Jiangsu province has steadfastly promoted industrial transformation and upgrading over the past five years, building a strong modern industrial system and a more stable and robust foundation for high-quality development.

The city has achieved a leap in comprehensive strength. It has been selected as one of the top 100 county-level cities in comprehensive competitiveness and industrial development in China respectively for five consecutive years.

Xinghua High-tech Zone has been upgraded to a provincial-level high-tech zone, while Xinghua Economic Development Zone has been designated a provincial-level pilot park to advance China's dual carbon goals of peaking carbon dioxide emissions before 2030 and achieving carbon neutrality before 2060. Both zones have been approved as national-level green industrial parks.

Xinghua has also enhanced the competitiveness of its advantageous industries. During the period, the industrial added value above designated size of the city has grown at an average annual rate of 12.9 percent, and the industrial invoiced sales have grown at an average annual rate of 9.1 percent.

The city's special alloy materials and products industry cluster for marine equipment has become a national-level small and medium-sized enterprise characteristic industry cluster. The deep-processing industry cluster for composite seasonings and characteristic agricultural products has been designated as a provincial SME enterprise characteristic industry cluster.
