Holiday tourism in Taizhou surged during the Spring Festival holiday, with monitored cultural and tourism venues reporting a 22.43 percent increase in average daily visitors and a 20.46 percent rise in daily tourism spending compared with last year's holiday, reflecting strong consumer enthusiasm and a vibrant festive economy.

The city's famous morning tea culture proved a significant draw. Restaurants were packed, with cars bearing out-of-town license plates lining the streets. At a popular eatery in Jiangyan district, UK visitor Edward joined locals to sample signature dishes, including shredded dried tofu and noodles in fish soup. He praised the experience, saying Taizhou's morning tea was "healthy, fresh, and delicious", adding that crab roe buns and steamed soup dumplings were among his favorites. He planned to continue his visit by exploring the ancient town and nearby wetlands.

Across the city, scenic areas blended traditional customs, cultural performances, and public-friendly activities. During the day, folk shows and cultural programs entertained visitors, while evenings brought spectacular displays. At the waterfront stage in Sanshui Bay, molten iron fireworks lit up the night sky, creating showers of sparks, while synchronized drone formations illuminated the skyline alongside the historic Wanghai Tower.

In Qintong Ancient Town, traditional wedding processions recreated classic water-town marriage customs, complete with matchmakers and bridal sedan chairs. The performances drew tens of thousands of spectators eager to experience the romance and heritage of Jiangnan traditions.

Festivities extended beyond scenic spots. On Feb 22, Jingjiang hosted a lively parade featuring themed groups, including the Chinese zodiac, legendary celestial figures, and the God of Wealth. Performers interacted with the crowd, posed for photos, and handed out sweets, creating an immersive, joyful atmosphere.

Meanwhile, Changdao Maple Leaf Island, a new cultural landmark, welcomed its first visitors on the first day of the Chinese New Year. In addition to traditional attractions, interactive robotic dog performances drew crowds, and a bustling market offered creative cultural products, local delicacies, and family-friendly activities.

The diverse mix of traditions, innovation, and immersive experiences helped position Taizhou as an increasingly popular destination for holiday travelers seeking both cultural depth and festive excitement.
