Taizhou has intensified its investment in key agricultural and rural development projects, reinforcing their importance as a strong foundation for advancing all-around rural vitalization.

In 2025, the city reported the implementation of 166 major agricultural and rural projects, with a total annual investment of 8.08 billion yuan ($1.17 billion). Throughout the 14th Five-Year Plan period (2021-25), Taizhou launched 645 projects, accumulating an investment of 42.6 billion yuan. Its performance has ranked in the top tier across Jiangsu province for five consecutive years.

Several large-scale projects are helping upgrade the city's agricultural industry. At the Hailing Modern Agricultural Industrial Park, construction is underway on a pet food project with an investment exceeding 100 million yuan, which is expected to drive the development of higher value-added segments in the fast-growing pet economy.

The Taixing Modern Agricultural Industrial Park has seen the rollout of various projects, including a baking food production facility with an annual capacity of 20 million units and an aseptic cold-fill beverage production line. These developments are integral to fostering a more integrated and health-oriented food industry chain.

In 2025, Taizhou's agricultural industrial chain achieved a total output value exceeding 170 billion yuan. Within this framework, the sector focusing on specialized medical and functional foods accounted for 20.32 billion yuan, while the deep processing of agricultural products, along with the prepared food industry, collectively contributed 71.4 billion yuan, emerging as two crucial catalysts for the city's agricultural growth.
