Taizhou reported solid progress in major project construction in the first quarter of the year, with a clear push toward high-end, intelligent and green industrial development.
Eleven of the 20 provincial-level major projects scheduled to begin this year have already broken ground. Meanwhile, 79 of the 202 planned municipal-level key projects have commenced construction.
The projects show a strong focus on advanced manufacturing, spanning sectors such as electronic information, high-tech shipbuilding, automotive and components, and intelligent equipment.
Among them, the Hanfeng CNC machine tool project, with a planned investment of 1 billion yuan ($146.28 million), is designed to produce 1,000 units annually and is expected to strengthen Taizhou's equipment manufacturing capacity.
Projects by Sanfu Heavy Industry and Suzhong Aluminum are targeting green and intelligent shipbuilding and new energy vehicle supply chains, helping upgrade traditional industries.
The Giti New Energy (Leapmotor) digital-intelligent factory project, with a planned investment of 600 million yuan, will integrate big data and artificial intelligence into production and is expected to achieve an annual capacity of 500,000 automotive modules.
An official from the city's development and reform commission said Taizhou aims to reach an overall project start rate of around 85 percent by the first half of the year, with all planned projects breaking ground by the third quarter. Efforts will focus on tightening timelines, strengthening coordination, and ensuring resource support to accelerate project implementation.
