Qinhu Bay Dragon Boat Invitational kicks off in Taizhou

The Qinhu Bay Dragon Boat Invitational took place on June 13-14, bringing together 38 teams from across Jiangsu province for a high-energy competition across four parallel 300-meter straight courses.

With paddles cutting through the water in perfect rhythm, the event showcased both speed and teamwork as teams raced head-to-head in a vibrant celebration of traditional Chinese sports culture.

One of the standout participants was the Nantong Shouma International Dragon Boat Club, which featured several international paddlers. Among them was a Scottish athlete who has lived in China for eight years and is a seasoned dragon boat enthusiast with competition experience across multiple cities.

Speaking about her experience at Qinhu Bay, she praised the natural surroundings. "Outside of the competition, you can enjoy lake views, see birds in flight, and breathe fresh air. Racing here is not only about sport, but also a unique way to experience traditional Chinese culture. It combines athletic challenge with a sense of wellness."
