Taizhou brings scenic countryside and cultural heritage to soccer stage

Fans attending Taizhou's home match against Zhenjiang in the 2026 Jiangsu Football City League on July 4 will be treated to a vibrant showcase of the city's culture, natural beauty and youthful spirit through a series of specially designed performances.

Before kickoff and during halftime, performers will transform the soccer pitch into a living portrait of Xinghua's renowned Duotian agrosystem. Combining traditional Peking Opera with modern street dance, the performances are designed to celebrate Taizhou's rich cultural heritage while highlighting its youthful energy and creativity.

Preparations for the show are currently in full swing. During a rehearsal on June 29, more than 100 performers formed yellow-and-green patterns that recreated the distinctive Duotian landscape, where patches of farmland rise above a network of winding waterways. Carefully choreographed movements reflected the undulating fields and flowing rivers, bringing the tranquil beauty of the water town to life on the stadium turf.

Adding to the festive atmosphere, audiences will also enjoy a spectacular double-dragon and double-lion dance, blending traditional folk culture with the excitement of the sporting event.
