Taizhou in Jiangsu province is making steady progress in advancing major projects, injecting fresh momentum into high-quality economic development and industrial transformation.
This year, 30 projects in Taizhou have been included in Jiangsu's provincial major project list, with a planned total investment of 83.87 billion yuan ($12.42 billion) and an annual investment target of 15.5 billion yuan. In the first half of the year, these projects attracted 9.72 billion yuan in investment, accounting for 62.7 percent of the annual investment target. Of the 20 major provincial projects scheduled to start construction this year, 17 have already broken ground.
At the municipal level, Taizhou has 360 key projects with a combined planned investment of 242.67 billion yuan and an annual investment plan of 61.89 billion yuan. By the end of June, 134 of the 202 projects planned to start construction this year had begun construction.
Investment momentum has been particularly strong in key industrial sectors. Projects in marine engineering equipment and high-tech shipbuilding, as well as chemical engineering and new materials, are leading the city's investment progress. Meanwhile, emerging sectors such as next-generation information technology, intelligent equipment, automobiles and auto parts are demonstrating strong development vitality.
Projects in industries including healthy food, metal materials, new energy, biomedicine, and future industries are also advancing, helping to strengthen industrial chains and cultivate new growth drivers.
