Taizhou advances health industry with new Aland project

A new R&D incubation center and smart manufacturing project for Aland's multifunctional nutrition products was launched on Aug 13 in the Biomedical Industrial Park of Taizhou Medical High-Tech Zone.

With a total investment of 700 million yuan ($103.8 million), the project will integrate R&D, pilot-scale incubation, smart manufacturing, and global production and sales.

Aland, headquartered in Jingjiang, is China's largest exporter of nutritional and health products and the world's largest contract manufacturer in the sector. Its core products include functional health foods, dietary supplements, sports nutrition products and over-the-counter medicines.

A wholly owned subsidiary of Aland, Aland Taizhou, was established in the Biomedical Industrial Park in 2017. The company focuses on traditional Chinese medicines, biological products and health foods, while providing integrated solutions and technical support for the development of the local health industry.

Its key products, including functional gummies and probiotics, are exported to Europe, the United States and other countries and regions.
