Veteran actor You Benchang dies at 93

You Benchang, a performing artist and first-class actor with the National Theatre of China, died of an illness in Beijing on Wednesday morning. He was 93.

Born in 1933 in Hailing district of Taizhou, Jiangsu province, You devoted much of his career to theater and created many beloved characters in works including the television series Ji Gong.

You had worked in the performing arts for more than 70 years.
