The Taizhou Mei Lanfang Peking Opera Troupe performed Saving the Emperor in Shouzhou, a traditional martial arts opera, at the 11th China Peking Opera Art Festival in Wuhan, Hubei province, on Oct 26.

Known for its dynamic fight sequences, the production drew praise from local opera enthusiast Zhu Zhe, who traveled from Ezhou, Hubei province, to watch the performance.

"The production was very well done," Zhu said. "The performers looked elegant, their voices were clear, and they displayed impressive talent. Their movements were crisp and precise, and the fight choreography was excellent." Zhu also noted the vibrant energy of the orchestra accompanying the performance.

Beyond the stage, the troupe set up a display area featuring Peking Opera-themed products. The space attracted festivalgoers and younger opera fans, who stopped to take photos and interact with the displays.
