Taizhou city in East China's Jiangsu province held a public meeting on May 14 to promote this year's upcoming International Museum Day and the China Tourism Day, which fall on May 18 and 19, respectively.

The event presented details on more than 30 cultural tourism activities to be held across the city during the period. It announced new initiatives, including fun tourism routes, aimed at combining culture and tourism.

Dozens of special exhibition stands were set up for the event by the organizers. They featured info on major local cultural and tourism venues, scenic spots, hotels, travel agencies and specialty food stores – all there to showcase their products and services.

Enriched and discounted collections, tourism routes, tickets, meal vouchers and room vouchers are now all the rage in the city – promoting and encouraging locals and tourists to further explore the metropolis.

On May 19, a raft of attractions will offer free admission through reservations at the Fengcheng River scenic area, the Lizhong water forest park and to Shagou ancient town. Moreover, a number of hotels and travel companies will also provide discounts on tickets and banquet services.

Additionally, this year's event will stage a number of exhibitions focusing on cultural and tourist themes.
