According to preliminary statistics, Taizhou, Jiangsu province received an estimated 6.85 million visitors during the just-concluded National Day and Mid-Autumn Festival holiday, a year-on-year increase of 30.21 percent.
During the break, the city generated tourism revenue of approximately 4.19 billion yuan ($587.76 million), up 28.35 percent year-on year.
On Oct 6, the Taizhou Library held an event to celebrate Mid-Autumn Festival, with readers dressed in different kinds of hanfu having fun making festive lanterns. At the Taizhou Museum, traditional Chinese music performances and experiencing activities such as tea art, lantern riddles, and lantern making were staged to allow visitors to experience the romantic atmosphere and unique charm of the tradition festival.

From Oct 1 to 6, the Fengcheng River Scenic Area and its surrounding attractions received over 500,000 visits, a year-on-year increase of 11.16 percent, and achieved a 33.4 percent year-on-year increase in tourism revenue.
Thanks to the opening of the Changtai Yangtze River Bridge, Taixing early morning tea shops welcomed a large number of Changzhou tourists, with a surge of over 50 percent in traffic compared to usual weekends.
