The sunflowers belong to the "Nuokui 0212" variety. The flowering period extends from mid to late September through early October, lasting 15 to 20 days.
As a high-quality oil crop, the "Nuokui 0212" variety can produce up to about 3,000 kilograms per hectare, yielding 900 kilograms of oil per hectare with an oil extraction rate of 30 to 40 percent.
This year's prolonged high temperatures have created ideal growing conditions, resulting in an anticipated average yield per hectare that surpasses last year's figures.
The sunflower oil will be distributed to farmers' markets and supermarkets throughout Taizhou.
