Qinhu Lake winter fishing festival to open in Taizhou city

The 2024 Qinhu Lake winter fishing festival will kick off on Jan 27 on the shores of Qinhu Lake, in the Jiangyan district of Taizhou city – located in East China's Jiangsu province.

The upcoming festival promises a spectacular display of fish leaping out of the water, along with food tastings, singing and dancing performances.

Qinhu Lake is renowned for its pristine waters, abundant aquatic life and freshwater food. The tradition of winter fishing there dates to prehistoric times and was prevalent during the Liao and Jin dynasties (916-1234). 

For those planning to visit, here are some travel tips:

- Self-driving

   - Route 1: Take G28 (Qidong-Yangzhou Expressway Jiangyan north exit), then head north along S610 Qinhu Lake Avenue to reach Qinhu Lake National Wetland Park.

   - Route 2: Take G1515 Yancheng-Jingjiang Expressway Qintong exit, proceed south along 303 County Highway, then head east along S353. At the traffic lights, turn left and continue north along S610 Qinhu Lake Avenue to reach Qinhu Lake National Wetland Park.

- Buses

   - Buses 816, 818 and No 1 from Jiangyan Bus Station can take you to the Qihu Lake National Wetland Park station.

All visitors must make reservations through the online booking platform of the scenic spot and the tickets can be booked via the official WeChat account "gh_fef189558dcf".
