A vibrant, free-to-attend celebration of Jiangsu province's rich culinary and artisanal legacy, part of a series of events sponsored by the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism, is set to be held at the Wanghai Tower Scenic Area in Taizhou from June 5 to 7.
The event offers the chance to try intangible cultural heritage (ICH) delicacies, craft demonstrations, and cultural exhibitions from all 13 prefecture-level cities of Jiangsu.
At the heart of the festival is a culinary journey across Jiangsu. Dozens of ICH dishes will be prepared on-site for immediate tasting, including Wuxi's sweet-and-sour spare ribs, Changshu's beggar's chicken, Xuyi's crayfish, Yangzhou's fried rice, Zhenjiang's pot-lid noodles, and Jingjiang's crab roe soup dumplings. Visitors can also browse and purchase unique souvenirs, bringing a taste of Jiangsu home.

Beyond food, the event features interactive cultural experiences. ICH culinary masters will showcase their skills, explaining the history and techniques behind each dish while visitors sample the flavors. A parent-child cooking competition adds a playful twist, where families can learn traditional recipes together.
For those interested in a deeper cultural dive, two exhibitions will be on display. A photo exhibition on Jiangsu ICH cuisine highlights the artistry of dishes like Wensi tofu (a delicate tofu dish requiring precise knife work) and sweet-and-sour spare ribs, showcasing the province's culinary heritage through vivid imagery.
The other exhibition on Jiangsu's cultural relics will feature real photos of ancient sites and buildings, offering a glimpse into Jiangsu's historical legacy — perfect for family-friendly educational activities.
The event runs from 4:30 pm to 9:30 pm on June 5, 9:00 am to 9:30 pm on June 6, and 9:00 am to 4:00 pm on June 7, all at Wanghai Tower Scenic Area in Taizhou. Whether you're a foodie, a culture enthusiast, or a family looking for a fun weekend outing, this festival promises a memorable experience filled with flavor, tradition, and joy.
